We added the strings to the .po with the Indonesian language and switched the browser to Bahasa Indonesia. The django admin was translated but the Javascript in GeoNode wasn't. The fix for this would be a documentation patch listing the right steps for translating GeoNode. So far, creating the language .po, compiling and restarting the server does not seem to be enough.
